How Clothaa's Quality Check Works Before Your Order Ships
Wondering what happens to your custom jacket order before it leaves our facility? Here's a transparent look at exactly how Clothaa checks every order for quality, accuracy, and consistency before it ships.
How Clothaa's Quality Check Works Before Your Order Ships
When you place a custom jacket order, you're trusting that what arrives matches what you approved. That's not something we take lightly. Every Clothaa order goes through a structured quality check process before it leaves our facility — and here's exactly what that looks like.
We want to be completely transparent about this, because trust is earned through specifics, not promises.
Step 1: Design Accuracy Check
The first thing we check is whether every jacket in the order matches the approved design proof. This means verifying the colours of the body and sleeves against the agreed specification, confirming that every logo, patch, and embroidery placement is in the correct position, checking that any personalisation (individual names, numbers, or custom text) matches the submitted name list exactly, and confirming that font, thread colour, and stitch density are consistent across all units.
This is done unit by unit, not as a batch check. Each jacket is individually compared against the proof and the order specification.
Step 2: Construction and Materials Inspection
Once design accuracy is confirmed, each jacket is inspected for construction quality. We look at the stitching on seams, cuffs, and collar for any loose threads, skipped stitches, or inconsistencies. We check snap buttons and zip closures to confirm they open and close correctly. We inspect the sleeve attachment points, which carry the most stress in a varsity jacket. We check the lining attachment and any interior details for cleanliness and consistency.
For jackets with genuine leather sleeves, we also inspect the leather for any surface marks, uneven colouring, or application issues that occurred during manufacturing.
Step 3: Size Verification
Before packing, each jacket is checked against its size label to confirm it matches the actual garment measurements. This step catches any mislabelling that can occur during production — particularly important in large orders where sizes vary significantly across the batch.
We then cross-reference the packed sizes against the original size breakdown submitted with your order to confirm the quantities are correct before the box is sealed.
Step 4: Final Presentation Check
Jackets are folded or hung according to style (structured jackets are typically hung on internal cardboard forms to maintain shape during transit). We inspect the presentation layer — how the jacket looks when it comes out of the packaging — because the unboxing experience matters, especially for premium or gifted orders.
Any jacket that doesn't meet our standard at this stage is pulled out of the batch and either corrected before shipping or replaced. We would rather delay an order by a day than ship something that isn't right.
What Happens If Something Gets Through
Despite thorough checks, occasionally an issue reaches a customer — it's rare, but honest suppliers acknowledge it can happen. If you receive a jacket with a quality issue, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the problem. We will assess the issue and either replace the affected unit, correct it if it can be done without affecting the garment, or issue an appropriate resolution. We do not make this process difficult.
Why This Matters for Bulk Orders
For group orders of 20, 50, or 200+ jackets, a quality issue that slips through creates a much bigger problem than it would for a single garment. One wrong name, one misaligned patch, one incorrect size label — multiplied across a large order — creates a significant disruption for the person managing the distribution.
Our quality check process is specifically designed for bulk custom orders where consistency across the batch is just as important as the quality of any individual unit.
At Clothaa, quality control isn't a department — it's a standard that applies to every order, regardless of size. If you have specific quality requirements or want to discuss what our process looks like for your particular order, get in touch and we'll walk you through it.
